This link shows a programmers hierarchy. It got me quite upset seeing Pascal way down the list as, to be franc, I consider my self quite superior
Now really, how can Java Script, VB and AJAX (which is a technology not a language) (to name a few) be higher then Pascal!? Shouldn't Pascal be at the same level as C and Object Pascal is in the same level as C++?

Now I wouldn’t mind if it was one ignorant man thoughts but this is a common belief ("Pascal is dead"). As much as I/We know its not the case the programming community does, does it mean we are the last Pascal generation?
And if so, do you think there is some sort of endangered-species preservation committee we can appeal to?

That looks likes a graph showing how superior programmers of that language feel they are. We all know the people who program is assembler think they are "it" .

I think that is fair, all of those programmers who use languages above pascal believe they are superior. My experience has shown me that Pascal programmers are quite open minded with regarding the language they use and will use the appropriate tool for the job (I do this all the time), and use pascal where they can.

Besides other programers may "think" they are superior, but the difference is we know we are

..and Pascal programmers consider themselves better than Java programmers?.

This graph actually explains a lot.

I'm a C programmers, a Javascript programmer, a VB programmer, a Pascal programmer and more recently, a Java programmer.. originally, I did Assembler so no wonder I've got all these mixed ideas about my identity.. I feel both wretched and superior all the time.. now I know why, I can finally let it go.

As long as we rate good in this list, I really dont care what people say about other languages.
It is however interesting to see they do split delphi and pascal though. Whereas in, for example the list of 2005, they did not.
An other interesting bit of information is, and I quote:
