Check out the first 2 tech demos on this page.

    Very impressive stuff indeed!

Look out for both in other next gen games out in 2008

    Euphoria - http://www.naturalmotion.com/euphoria.htm

    DMM - http://www.pixeluxentertainment.com/...ink=technology

I hope to see some PGD entrants using DMM and Euphoria in next year's competition .

    WOW!

very very interesting... I fear the budget for those would be beyond that of the indy developer.

I saw the dmm thing a while ago, my opinion: to use such a thing you have to scrap any other superior physics engine, plus there is no actual benefit to use it and it'd be only useful for MINOR effects.

You're kidding right? I don't know about integration with another physics engine, but as soon as I saw this demo video, I thought, How cool would that be in a tank game?... I was thinking about how to do something like this for the Torque engine version of Guns Reloaded.. shooting through skyscrapers, smashing the buildings into pieces..

Or combining the two tech demos, the procedural animation with this DMM thing to make a game about fighting warriors made of ice or rock.. hit them hard in the arm with a hammer and their arm breaks into pieces, affecting their ability to fight, that would be a thing to see..
