Team name: Eon Clash
Project name: Secrets of the Domus Aurea

Brief description:
Secrets of the Domus Aurea is my entry into the Pascal Game Development Competition 2007. The game is a simple 2D top down maze, puzzle, semi-RPG (not really), educational game.

Basic idea is to navigate the randomly generated mazes encountering NPC's and MOB's collecting puzzle pieces and clues on how to solve them. At the end of the maze is a Puzzle Room that you have to have all Puzzle Pieces to enter. Each levels puzzle is different, and collecting all of the clues can make the puzzle almost a no brainer.

Target aim: Freeware (Maybe Shareware after the compo)

Compensation:
I am funding this out of my own pocket, so funds are limited. If I found the right artist/musician with the right price, I could pay. I would prefer persons that would settle for names in the credits and a % if the game ends up being good enough to sell via Shareware.

Technology:
The basic engine is developed in FreePascal and utilizes OpenGL through SDL for graphics. SDL-mixer and SDL-mpeg are used for sound. Graphics are currently limited to PNG with full alpha channel and TGA with alpha. Other formats are supported, but I find them to look odd on some hardware.

The engine has Lua linked in for scripting the game and environment, giving great flexibility to what can be done in game.

Talent needed:
Artist - The sprites and tiles that are currently being used are found from various free graphics sits around the web. I'd like to have graphics that are game specific to help fit the storyline to the actual game play. Currently, we are using Charas Sprite Sheets to allow for customization of player look and feel and only two ground tile types. All graphic files must be in power of 2 size due to OpenGL.

The current site is at http://pgd07.eonclash.com/ and is a holder while Byron completes the final design. Still it contains all of the information (design doc, storyline, screenshots, downloads) that should help someone decide what the project is all about.
