Hey, for the ai-junkie contest I'm putting together a spiffed out flocking example with some bonus bells and whistles.

Has anyone else here dealt with flocking?

I'm not seeking help, just others interesting in flocking.

I'm wary of explaining the details as to keep my ideas private until the contest (I'm taking the microsoft approach: down with the competiton!)

Craig Reynolds' work may be useful to you. Here's a page on Boids, which are artificial flocking bird/fish/whatever thingies.

Thanks Alimonster but thats what I've studied and what I have based my work on =)
Reynolds had/has some very good ideas.

Have you attempted any pascal implementation?

I haven't but I know someone who has.

I've already seen that too =) I skimmed his code for one concept I wasn't grasping right away but his implementation is too simple to cover it =/

I'm not looking at his as much as possible as to not influence mine.

    Thank you though
