On another forum I moderate we exchange banners/logos with other forums so a link to our forum gets shown on theirs and theirs gets shown on ours... However we do have a portal on that one, which means that ppl get to see a page with advertisement and information about the forum and the messages of the day and stuff and then they can click to go to the forums!
