    DelphiLive 2009

I got an email from Jim McKeeth, one of my coworkers, about this, and figured I'd pass it on. For those of us living in the USA, there's going to be a physical Delphi conference in San Jose, California in May. You can find information here:

I'm considering signing up with a presentation about game development. If anyone else is interested, you ought to attend. Game programming is what attracts young coders, and despite all the resources for it we have available it's not something people tend to associate with Delphi, which has contributed IMO to the language's gradual decline. Let's see if we can't do anything to reverse that.

That would be excellent to see happen. If you do manage to get a presentation together I'm sure many of the folks here would love to see it ourselves. (Even though we are probably already the initiated. :lol

All right. Who all would be interested in attending? (And who would be able to present something?)

Well, the speaker line-up for the conference is up now. This is gonna be big. It's full of CodeGear members such as Nick Hodges, Allen Bauer and Barry Kelly, and major coders and bloggers like Marco Cantu, Olaf Monien and Jim McKeeth. (It would be real nice to attend a session presented by Andreas Hausladen, but unfortunately he's not on the list.)

And then waaaaay down at the bottom of the page... yours truly, talking about game development in Delphi. I'm gonna have to come up with a real good presentation to hold my own in such illustrious company.

It would be nice to see some of you there.

Sweet! I'm glad you managed to get in there. And the best part is that you get to stick it to them in the end when they think that the day is just winding down. How short/long can your presentation run for? And we are talking about the kind where you'll be standing at a podium with a PowerPoint clicker in your hand, no?

If you need links to resources and materials, just let me know. I'll be pleased to help you out as best I can. I used to run quite the information network of what was what back when I was top-guy around here.

Anyhow I hope this goes well. I can't wait to see your presentation if you can record a video of it. Please, do try!

I'm not sure if I'll be at the end of the day or not. I'm just last on the list, based on whatever criteria they used to sort it. (Experience, perhaps? ) My presentation's supposed to be 75 minutes, and I'll see if I can get it recorded.

So hows the presentation coming along? I'm anxious to see how it turns out.

Guess I'll have to wait until May.
