I think RTS would probably fall under current events.
The most common genre these days are RTS, FPS and RPG. Though platformers (at least the 3D variety) are still being made usually are the domain of consoles nowadays.
I seriously doubt that they had even a fraction of historical games in there though.
RTS current events?? it's like OLD.. remember DUNE and command & conquerOriginally Posted by WILL

Off topic, but i reckon it would be possible to to make an Outcast style game these days with meshes using displacement mapping http://www.delphi3d.net/articles/vie...umpmapping.htm
It could make some very nice organic scenery.. One of the reasons why Outcast wasn't as successful as it should have been was its lack of 3D accelleration.. you can't accellerate a voxel. (yet)
I still don't know why they canned Outcast2
Duke Nukem was great! And Doom was the first game to scare the hell out of me. I also played Wolfenstein but the 2D game in Apple IIc, and Duke Nukem in DOS.Originally Posted by NecroDOME
Could you imagine the latest 3D titles like Halo and Unreal, adapted for the old consoles and computers?
