Well once a boxed product leaves the direct distributor's warehouse, it gets harder to track the more time and hands it travels. Something as old as Delphi 2005, unless sold by one of the direct distributors or a well established retail company would be very hard to trace back to Borland.

You'd really only find out once you got the product shipped to you. Mind you, that is a big risk. But so is buying online most of the time.

If you can't verify it then I'd conclude that it's too high risk as well and stay away. But in this case, report their asses.
