Anyone here using GMax? Autodesk's cut down Studio Max for Game developers, I just found it and was wondering how it compares to other modeling programs?

It is very powerful, and you can use most 3DS Max tutorials with it. It is also possible to get data out of it by using the MD2 exporter that is available. Having said that, I believe Autodesk have discontinued it, and since you need to register it with Autodesk before you can use it, I'm not sure how much longer that registration will be available.
A good way to mutilate your model! It is also possible to get data out of it by using the MD2 exporter
MD2 format uses very strong lossy compression of vertex coordinates and normals (x6, i believe), and anything but blockheaded Q2 monsters turn into a total mess at converting into MD2. Especially the models with slow animation.
You can export to .X and other formats too, you just need to get the plugins...
If you develop an idiot proof system, the nature develops better idiots.
