Existence is pain
I don't see why this is a problem. It's developers' fault IMO for relying on some tag that can change; granted, they probably never expected it to.
I don't hold Oracle at fault at all, but I find it funny that rather than tie to the VM identifier the Eclipse developers thought that using the Company Name (a Windows only field btw) would be a good way to identify the VM.Originally Posted by dazappa
What I DO find even more amusing, and something I think is a mistake, is that Oracle rolled back the change to the JVM after Eclipse complained that they were broke.
