I DID google it. But it appears that there are no usefull pages both mentioning SIGSEGV and Access Violations.
I'm not a linux expert so I can't directly see if the two mean the same thing.

Sorry, I thought wiki gives all the information of SIGSEGV to understand that it mostly the same as an "Access Violation"(but not 100%, for example this message can be generated if user use killall command)Originally Posted by chronozphere
